Meet on the Tower Bridge Overpass over WI-53
We provide physical messaging in the real world to connect with and activate voters to demonstrate that resistance is possible. Prepare to wave and generally have a good time.
Rules and Protocols
We avoid doing anything that could either harm ourselves or anyone else. This includes stepping into traffic, holding a sign where it could fall onto cars below, climbing fencing, etc.
We must not block pedestrian and bike traffic, so please keep the middle of the overpass and/or sidewalk clear to allow them to pass.
We supply the messages, you supply the waves. However, you are welcome to also display your own poster boards. Just avoid any messaging that would be rated above a PG-13.
We don’t litter. If we find litter, we pick it up and throw it away.
We are NOT allowed to attach the signs to the fencing on the overpass. We don’t use stickers or anything that leaves a permanent mark on the overpass. However, chalk is okay and even encouraged.
If someone from the ‘opposition’ comes up to talk with us, do not engage with them. Best to just ignore them. One member will be designated to handle them and video record any aggressive interaction so that you can go right on waving.
We take lots of pictures and videos during our action for circulation on social media. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know and/or consider wearing a mask.
Should law enforcement pay us a visit, only the designated point person from the group should address them.
Ignore the middle fingers and negativity coming from some of the cars below. For every one of those confused folks, you are providing hope to another 100 people!
The Visibility Brigade is a non-violent, informal volunteer group in which we all participate with an understanding that our own actions are our personal responsibility and we accept our own personal liability. You participate with this understanding.

Eau Claire: Bridge Brigade - Monday Mornings
https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/892800/
See you at 7:30am for setup and 8:00am to wave!

Eau Claire: Bridge Brigade - Monday Mornings
https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/892800/
See you at 7:30am for setup and 8:00am to wave!
West Milwaukee: SE WI Indivisible Weekly Sundays
https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/897118/
Community coming out because they are exhausted by the chaos rather than sitting at home angry that our democracy, inalienable rights and justice for all are being eroded. Action is the antidote to anxiety.
Meeting in front of the Target sign on Sundays. Parking is readily available. We spread out along Miller Parkway and display our pro-democracy signs and encourage joiners. Raising awareness and gaining more to the movement is our goal. We would like to have themed messaging and try to announce that to the people who sign up. The themes are determined by what chaos is happening that week.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. No weapons of any kind are allowed.
It's always good to smile and wave :) Come with or without a sign. We will have extras. We like to get a photo together at the end and we do post online. We also will have pickers to pick up trash in the area for those who are so inclined. Looking forward to meeting you!
Winter time: 2:00pm-3:30pm Summer time: 3:00pm-4:30pm
For those who would like to meet more people, we go to a local restaurant after our event. Talk to us after for details.

Blue Mounds: May Day Theater Presentation - Joe Hill, Alive As You And Me
https://www.facebook.com/events/1396481425621844
YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS THEATER PRESENTATION!
AN EVENING OF SONGS, STORIES AND SOLIDARITY
PERFORMED BY TOM KASTLE, SINGER, ACTOR, STORYTELLER
This event is free and open to the public (donations appreciated)
Joe Hill was a labor organizer and songwriter for the Industrial Workers of the World, founded in 1905. He believed in the IWW mantra that men and women of all races and nations could work together to “change the unequal conditions of society through legitimate direct action.” His tool for uniting people was music and the power of song. He was one of the most influential protest artists of the 20th century, and if Joe Hill were around today, he’d still find plenty to protest.
Folksinger Tom Kastle’s performance of the musical play, Joe Hill, Alive as You and Me, celebrates the legacy of the martyred poet and labor leader. The tone is set by the script’s opening lines:
On November 19, 1915, a man named Joe Hill was shot by firing squad in Salt Lake City, Utah—his crime? Writing songs!
What follows, described by the show’s creator as “an evening of songs, stories, and solidarity,” is a remarkable 70-minute collective experience.

All are welcome - students, workers, alumni, and community members! We'll be meeting at 11am for a rally to demand affordability, freedom, and safety at our school. Bring your own signs!
