Prairie du Chien: 3rd Congressional District Town Hall
https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/813955/
We believe it’s more important than ever for our Members of Congress to have open and honest conversations with the people they represent. Unfortunately, Representative Derrick Van Orden has yet to hold an in-person town hall meeting with his constituents.*
Recently, Rep. Van Orden voted for massive cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and clean energy tax credits that will raise costs and threaten Wisconsin jobs – all while giving new tax breaks to the ultra wealthy. With this vote, he broke the promises he made to his constituents. His vote will make it harder for families in his district to stay afloat. Rep. Van Orden’s constituents deserve the opportunity to tell him how this will impact their lives and to ask him to stop cutting services they rely on.
Please join our grassroots coalition for a town hall with special guest Representative Mark Pocan (Wisconsin’s 2nd District) on Thursday, July 31 at 5:00 PM CT at the Prairie Performing Arts Center in Prairie du Chien. Seating is limited.
*Rep. Derrick Van Orden has also been invited to attend this event.

Madison: Hold The WI GOP Accountable
https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/818514/
Join us again in front of WI GOP Headquarters at 148 E. Johnson St. for our Friday picket. With signs in hand, let's let them know what we think of their latest votes.
Wisconsin Members of Congress are all on board the Trump train. Now they've voted to take back $9 billion in federal funding for public media and foreign aid, even though the money had already been appropriated and signed into law. Who knows what they'll "claw back" next. Meanwhile, ICE abductions keep increasing.
In Wisconsin, the new budget starves public schools with an unprecedented $0 in new state general aid over the next two years.
These measures are deeply unpopular. Republicans must pay for ignoring their constituents. Our goal is to inform the public about what the GOP is really doing. Voting them out of office starts here and now!

Rage isn’t reckless. Nonviolence isn’t passive. In the face of escalating violence and dehumanization being committed by the Trump regime, this truth is as important as it has ever been. Join a coalition of local organizations answering a national call to action on Saturday, August 2nd to RAGE AGAINST THE REGIME. Find energy, solidarity, and learn from local organizers about actionable, concrete ways to turn rage into collective power at the local and national levels - especially when it comes to defending our immigrant communities here in Northeast Wisconsin!
We will be rallying at CityDeck for some resistance music and a speaker or two before fanning out across the Walnut Street bridge, so bring your signs for holding and a well-rested voice for chanting!

Madison: Resist Government Cruelty
https://events.pol-rev.com/events/5ad8a913-37e3-4612-859e-b7a9a70a6d5f
Yes, this silent protest march is organized by Christians, but we are not mean-spirited. We don’t ask you to believe everything we believe—only this: love your neighbor as yourself. That means refusing to do to others what we would not want done to us. For us, this is important work—finding common ground. We come from the Benedictine tradition, which teaches us to “listen with the ear of our hearts.”
We ask you to: Walk in silence with us, or, if you cannot, Hold us in prayer, or, if you’re not a person of faith, Simply send good thoughts for those taking a stand.
We are saying NO to government cruelty—especially toward immigrants, the poor, and the vulnerable. We also stand against: Militarism, Climate destruction, Christian Nationalism, The erosion of democracy, Masked and violent government enforcers
We believe you care about these things too. Stand with us—in body or in spirit.

Main St
Great Lakes Room, Racine WI
We believe it’s more important than ever for our Members of Congress to have open and honest conversations with the people they represent.
Recently, Rep. Steil voted for massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP that will raise costs for Wisconsinites – all while giving new tax breaks to the ultra wealthy. With this vote, he broke the promise he made to lower costs for his constituents and he’s making it harder for families in his district to buy groceries, see their doctor, and afford what they need to survive. Rep. Steil’s constituents deserve to know why he took this vote, time for him to answer their questions, and an opportunity to ask him to defend the policies they rely on, like Medicaid and SNAP.
Please join our grassroots coalition for a town hall on Tuesday, July 29 at 6:00 PM CT to discuss the impacts of cuts to Medicaid and SNAP and rising costs for Wisconsinites. Rep. Bryan Steil has been invited to attend. Other special guests who have confirmed attendance include Congresswoman Gwen Moore & Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski.

The New Wisconsin Idea:
Our coalition was formed as a response to the control held by the billionaire class over our government. We are traveling around Wisconsin speaking about the New Wisconsin Idea, a not-so-radical notion that our state should deliver basic rights for the working class.
We believe that every Wisconsinite, regardless of income, race, religion, gender, country of origin, or sexual orientation, has the right to the basic necessities of life. Our state can lead the nation in fighting for economic justice through living wages, high-quality and affordable health care, world-class education, affordable housing for all, a clean environment, and a secure retirement. Wisconsinites deserve a state that works for them, not for the billionaire class.

River Falls: Moral Mondays Street Rally
Please join us in opposing cuts to essential safety net programs!
Please join us at weekly recurring "Moral Monday" street rallies, alternating between Hudson WI and River Falls WI.
Folks may join for part or all the two hours, and may bring their own signs or use signs we’ll have to share.
If the weather is bad—hard rain, high wind, and/or lightening—we’ll cancel that week’s rally.
Our "Moral Monday" street rallies are inspired and informed by work of the prominent North Carolina pastor and anti-poverty activist the Rev. William Barber, who founded the Center for Public Theology and Public Policy at Yale and now teaches there.
On the twelfth anniversary of his first "Moral Monday" demonstration, Monday April 28, 2025, Rev. Barber was arrested for praying against the Republican-led budget while in the Rotunda of our US Capitol. At a rally held before he entered the Rotunda to pray, Rev. Barber said: “Forty-three percent of women and almost half of all children are poor and low income. Somebody ought to say something … Somebody gotta challenge this budget.”
We are holding "Moral Monday" street rallies to voice our challenges.
We oppose Republican-approved Congressional budget resolutions that harm the poorest and most vulnerable of Americans in order to give more than $5-trillion in tax breaks to the richest and most privileged of Americans.
We oppose Trump/Musk budget proposals that eliminate or make draconian cuts to federal programs for child care, health research, education, housing assistance, community development, and the elderly.
These funding cuts and proposed budgets are not just public policy choices, they are moral choices.
These funding cuts and proposed budgets are morally wrong, not just bad public policy choices.
Please join with us to "say something" and "challenge this budget".

The Money Out of Politics Movement is organizing a peaceful, non-partisan mass mobilization in Washington, D.C., and at all 50 state capitals, where we expect to mobilize at least two million Americans to demand:
A Ban on Lobbyist Gifts: Prohibiting all direct or indirect financial incentives from lobbyists to members of Congress.
The End of Congressional Stock Trading: Preventing elected officials from using privileged information to personally benefit.
The Overturning of Citizens United: Eliminating unlimited corporate campaign contributions and restoring limits on political spending.
A Constitutional Amendment to Keep Money Out of Politics: Ensuring that future generations do not face the same corruption and undue influence in government.
These reforms are not partisan; they are essential to ensuring a government that serves the people rather than powerful special interests.

Fox Valley - Multiple Cities: Deport Ice Protests!
https://www.facebook.com/events/1129235689038268
We all have been watching as the Trump administration and his allies mock the law and humanity by sending ICE after people in our country in inhumane ways. They are being kidnapped off the streets, not allowed due process which is a CONSTITUTIONAL right, and being sent to what is akin to a concentration camp. ICE is being violent for the sake of being violent while accomplishing these horrific tasks that they have decided amongst themselves will "make America great".
Whether a person is undocumented OR is here legally via a visa, a temporary status, or is a citizen, NONE OF THIS IS OKAY. None of this is humane. This is NOT how we treat people and this is not okay with the people of the United States.
Some stats for you:
- Fewer than 30% of detainees have been convicted of a crime of any type.
- Only about 7% of ICE detainees have violent criminal convictions — lower than the overall U.S. felony rate (~8%), underscoring a mismatch with ICE's boasted focus on violent offenders.
- ICE detains over 59,000 people in U.S. facilities — roughly 140% of funded capacity as of June 23, 2025
- Overcrowding in detention centers has led to severe issues, including:
Use of tents or floors due to lack of beds
Restricted medical care
Limited sanitation
Cellblock overcrowding and delayed recreation
Pregnant detainees denied necessary prenatal care
Care provided to women is often provided without their
informed medical consent
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
What can we do????
Several groups in the Fox Valley area (listed below) have come together to hold a protest related to the inhumane treatment that immigrants (and sometimes citizens) are receiving. We plan to have protests at the highway overpasses in Green Bay, Appleton, Neenah, Oshkosh, and Fond du Lac.
We are calling for the end of this inhumane treatment. We are calling for local law enforcement agencies to end their 287(g) agreements with ICE. We are calling for all people, no matter their race or ethnicity, to be treated the SAME under the law.
