Wednesday, January 7th, Renee Nicole Good, an American citizen, was killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This killing is part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against members of our communities.
This Sunday, January 11th , we are joining others across the country for a coordinated Ice Out For Good Weekend of Action. Please join Ozaukee Indivisible from 3-4pm in Mequon to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.
Gather at the Northeast corner of the intersection of Mequon Rd and Cedarburg Rd for a solidarity protest that will close with a candlelight vigil. Signs: Please bring issue specific signs and American flags to this event – we will not have time for a sign making party and need your help! (Examples: Stop Ice Terror, ICE Out, Justice for Renee Good, Say Her Name - Renee Good, Accountability is Required, Expose their Lies, Value Human Lives, Hope is Worth the Risk, This is a Moral Moment, Our Future is Worth Fighting for….you get the idea). We will have a couple of large signs and many smaller flags for people to borrow and battery powered votives as well since it will be windy.
