UW Health ended lifesaving care for trans kids.

On January 12th, UW Health announced they will no longer prescribe gender affirming medications for minors. No hormones or puberty blockers.

UW says that kids can find care they need at direct care clinics, but this would face some families to pay thousands out of pocket to get their children the care they need and deserve.

UW is not legally required to make this decision now. The federal government is making new rules about insurance, but they are not in effect.
