Join us at Veteran's Park for a community gathering to meet your neighbors, join some conversations, and maybe even wave some signs! If you care about democracy and our constitution and are looking for ways to fight despair, you're invited to join us. We aren't affiliated with any political party, group, or organization; we're community members who've been working together since summer 2024 to build systems of support, share resources, and teach each other how to fight tyranny- here and around the world.
In honor of the new Taylor Swift album, we're going full Swiftie for the weekend, and the rally is no exception! Some of us will be swapping bracelets, dressing up, and enjoying some of our favorite songs. We have a few lyric-inspired signs, and encourage you to bring yours, too! Not a fan? That's okay- wear your favorite rally gear or show up as you are- you wouldn't be the first to join us in pajamas! ALL AGES ARE INVITED- we love it when kids and teens join us, and there's space for everyone.
These events are becoming a "hub" for people to share their organizations and passions, and we want to hear about yours! It's VERY casual- you don't need to do a presentation or anything- just show up and talk to people about your work and passions. Event is rain or shine; if there's severe weather, we will reschedule. We'll have sidewalk chalk, sign supplies, signs to share, and lots of info and ideas. The park also hosts historical displays, a playground and gazebo, flowers, a few benches, and more. There's something for everyone, of every age, is what we're saying...
Please be respectful of surrounding businesses and private property. There's plenty of street parking and a public lot; we encourage walking, biking, and carpooling to minimize the environmental impact of this event.
