Boat Caravan Information

Logistics Overview

What: Boat Caravan - Spend time on the water AND resist!

When: Saturday, August 30th (Labor Day Weekend) 4:30pm-6:30pm 

Who: Motor/non motor boats AND land lubbers 🙂

Where: Boaters: Fox River - Land Protesters: Sidewalk south of Main Street Bridge

  • Boaters: You can meet around Pioneer Marina before going to the river OR just go straight to our rally point - just inside the river, near the Main Street Bridge.

  • Land Protesters: Occupy the sidewalk on the river near the Leach Amphitheatre (south side of Main Street Bridge) 

Why: One message: PRO! Pro democracy, pro due process, pro constitution, etc.


General Safety/Information

  • Profanity free signage, flags, and speech encouraged

  • Do not engage with agitators; ignore them or get 'em with kindness.

  • All boaters may cruise up and down the river as desired.

  • Cell Phone Usage - Your Call

    • Consider leaving at home or in car due to tracking or water damage.

    • Consider bringing to call EMS or record possible incident(s).

  • No drugs. Boater specific - alcohol consumption is not encouraged.

  • Land Protesters: Be aware of your surroundings and any agitators/opposition.


Water Safety

  • Follow all DNR protocol, state laws, and ordinances.

  • Non motor boaters should be confident in paddling abilities (handle wakes and waves, stamina, etc.).

    • Motor boats: Keep an eye on non motors if assistance is needed.

  • Be aware of opposition creating wakes, especially non motors.

  • Canoes are not particularly recommended unless there are calm waters or experienced operators; Winnebago is known to be volatile.
