Monroe: Solidarity Action

  • Monroe, WI, 53566 United States (map)

We’ve received an urgent call for community support in Monroe Wisconsin.

On Tuesday, August 12, workers from a cheese company in Monroe—many with over a decade of service—will be taking a stand to defend their dignity, livelihoods, and place in our community.

Recently, new ownership announced the sudden use of E-Verify for all employees, including long-time workers, despite there being no legal requirement in Wisconsin to apply this to current staff. Many of these workers have built their lives here, raised families here, and kept our dairy industry strong—even working on the frontlines during the pandemic. Now, some are being fired without a fair process.

Here’s how you can show up:

1:00–2:00 PM – Meet at Union Presbyterian Church (2707 5th St., Monroe, WI) to sign a community petition.

Around 2:00 PM – Caravan together to the worksite (2903 3rd St. N, Monroe, WI) for the Solidarity Action.

Bring your solidarity signs, your voices, and your commitment to justice. Let’s show these workers—and the company—that they are not alone.
