DEFEND DEMOCRACY PROTEST – SATURDAY, JULY 19 | 12–2 PM Corner of Stewart Ave & 17th Ave
Join us for a powerful and peaceful protest to Defend Democracy and speak out against the unconstitutional actions of the current administration. In recent weeks, people—some of them U.S. citizens—have been rounded up and sent to camps or deported without due process.
The vast majority of these individuals are not criminals but the backbone of our workforce: harvesting crops, building homes, and keeping the economy moving. These actions are not only inhumane—they violate both human rights and American law.
At the same time, the so-called “Big Ugly Bill” threatens to strip basic health and food support from our most vulnerable neighbors. These cuts will force more people into crisis and increase costs for everyone through rising health care prices and economic instability. We must come together and say no to these cruel and dangerous policies. Our democracy depends on all of us standing up, speaking out, and holding leaders accountable.
The protest will be held Saturday, July 19 from 12:00–2:00 PM on the public sidewalk at the corner of Stewart Ave and 17th Ave. Please park safely and legally in nearby areas and carpool if possible. This is a nonviolent demonstration—weapons are strictly prohibited, and respectful conduct is expected from all participants. Bring signs, bring your voice, and bring your resolve. Together, we will show that we will not allow democracy or dignity to be destroyed in our name.
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
