Honor all of those who work in the Chippewa Valley by joining in a PEOPLE'S MARCH IN SUPPORT OF LABOR on Monday, September 1, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Marchers from coalition partners including Chippewa Valley Indivisible, AFL-CIO, Wisconsin Dems, JONAH, Citizen Action, and more will assemble in five key locations at 10am. They will march (observing all traffic signs and regulations) to converge on Phoenix Park.
Attendees will gather at the Phoenix Park Amphitheater beside the Chippewa River where AFL-CIO State President Stephanie Bloomingdale will say a few words about the contributions and future path for labor in our area.
A FIVE-POINT MAP WITH STARTING POINTS WILL BE PROVIDED TO REGISTRANTS.
Following the march and speech, members of the AFL-CIO will hold the annual LaborFest the park. LaborFest is Eau Claire's annual celebration of labor and unions, honoring Wisconsin workers and Eau Claire's rich history as a union town. This is a family friendly event! We hope you and yours can join us for a fun and inspiring march.
Dress for the weather, this event is rain or shine!
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
