Republican-controlled committees in the House of Representatives released their portions of the budget proposal making its way through Congress and held markup meetings. This package aims to put in place work requirements for Medicaid, while helping pay for a tax cut for the wealthy. An analysis from KFF has indicated that the vast majority of Medicaid recipients are already working, while Wisconsin's Department of Health Services has indicated that 52,000 Wisconsinites are at high risk of losing healthcare coverage.
In response, Representative Anderson (D-Beloit) and Senator Spreitzer (D-Beloit) are hosting a town hall on Medicaid to listen to constituents how important this program is to them and why we need to protect it.
